The workshops in social sciences are aimed at understanding the significance of applied aspects of the same. That is, instead of limiting social sciences to only the theoretical understanding and desk research based on secondary sources, the emphasis is placed on making use of the various tools and techniques to identify issues in local communities and develop ways to resolve them.
